Analytic Functions: Unleash the SQL Power
Analytic Functions have been around for quite a long time, and still they are a relatively unknown. If you are unfamiliar with these very powerful functions, you are missing out on something spectacular. Analytic Functions add inter-row calculations, aggregates over multiple dimensions, or rank assignment based on values within a group of values - all without a GROUP BY clause.
The syntax might seem daunting at first, but it is really not that scary. This session will focus on the syntax with tons of real world uses for Analytic Functions.
Spletno anketiranje – zgolj pridobivanje ciljnih informacij?
Obdelava anket poteka preko podatkovnega skladišča in Oracle BI.
Harmony of Oracle Cloud for EPM and BI: The Baxters Recipe for Success
The heritage of Baxters Food Group is so strong that some of the recipes that made the business successful in 1868 are still among the best sellers today. Although some of the fundamental ingredients for success have not changed, the world in which those recipes are made, distributed, and sold has. In this session, hear insights about a program of work that blends public and managed cloud services to deliver a world-class financial reporting and supply chain management framework, all driven from a centrally held and governed demand forecasting solution: Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service. The session shares some of the background to this initiative and some of the challenges, benefits, and opportunities that the solution has provided.

... at least this is what Oracle says about this new product. We will explore what BICS can really offer to us, with specific focus on information discovery tool Visual Analyser, which is in a way the major enhancement and news to me.
Using aggregates and combining datasources in Oracle Business Intelligence
Aggregates are usually one of the key elements of any data warehouse. They are natural response to performance bottlenecks we usually face in real life. Using Oracle BI in combination with data warehouses this is not an exception.
When running measure aggregations at different levels of dimensional hierarchy, we will sooner or later run into performance bottlenecks. In Oracle BI we can solve this quite easy by defining new aggregates as data sources for our logical models.
However, if there are a lot of aggregates required, then manual management of aggregates is not that simple task anymore. Aggregate Persistence Wizard can be used to create and model aggregates in order to relieve the bottleneck and pre-calculate and store the data for better query response. Beside that we can reuse Aggregate Persistence Wizard scripts to manage and refresh data in our aggregated tables.
But what if your aggregates are stores in an Essbase cube? Well, Oracle Business Intelligence has answers for this case as well. Basically it you would combine an essbase cube in the same way as using aggregates. It is just another datasource type.
What if you have your actual and planning data in various data sources. Well, you will find out that Oracle Business Intelligence handles these type of situations very efficiently as well.
Do you want to find out how Oracle Business Intelligence does that? If yes, then join me for this demos based presentation.
Prepare and deploy Maps Views in Oracle BI
Using geographic data has become “a must” in today’s BI applications. In this presentation we will look at some examples of spatial analysis that can be developed using Oracle BI. And we’ll look at these basically from scratch, starting with simple table containing spatial information, and we will end up with visually rich interactive maps incorporated into Oracle BI dashboards.
